Yes. We accept both FSA and HSA’s. You can pay with your FSA/HSA card to cover fees. If you do not have your physical card with you, we can provide you with an itemized receipt and you can submit it to your FSA/HSA. We would advise you to double check with your specific plan to ensure physical therapy costs are covered.

No, in the state of New York physical therapists are able to evaluate and treat a patient without a referral from a physician. After 30 days or 10 visits (within 30 days) a referral from a physician is required as per the New York State Board.

Some insurance plans require a doctors prescription in order to cover visits. We recommend checking your insurance plan for more clarity.

We treat all ages and genders.

Your first appointment will include a thorough history intake followed by a physical examination. We may evaluate external and internal muscles. During your hour-long treatment session you will receive hands-on treatment with your PT and may receive exercises to perform in between appointments.

Please wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing. You should be able to move around easily like what you would wear to the gym.

Each session is one hour.

Each patient is different. At your first appointment, your physical therapist will discuss the plan of care with you and determine how often you should be seen. Please contact us if you are interested in speaking with one of our physical therapists to get a better idea of what your plan may look like.

While an internal examination can be helpful to better understand the pelvic floor muscles this is not a requirement to be seen by a pelvic PT. We will always explain why an internal pelvic exam may be helpful and explain what you can expect if an internal exam is performed. We want our patients at Body Harmony to feel safe and comfortable, if you would like to defer an internal exam just let your therapist know and they will be able to walk you through alternative external methods of care.

Absolutely! You can come to PT while you are menstruating, treatment can always be modified by your therapist depending on your preference. The only time we need to avoid an internal examination is during an active infection or if one is declined by the patient.

At Body Harmony Physical Therapy, we still have a number of our Covid-19 policies in place, including face mask requirements.

You may bring your child with you during treatment.

We provide a swing for infants and all treatment rooms have space for a stroller. We also provide space a quiet space for breastfeeding and/or pumping.
