National Physical Therapy Month
What to Know About Specialized Care
October is National Physical Therapy Month, a good time to recognize what physical therapists do. PTs are movement specialists who evaluate and treat the causes of pain and dysfunction, not just the symptoms. Physical therapy is a non-invasive, evidence-based approach to managing musculoskeletal conditions. Research also suggests that seeing a PT early for problems like low back pain can reduce the likelihood of opioid use and lower overall healthcare costs (Fritz et al., 2017).
All practicing PTs in the U.S. now hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Many go on to pursue additional training in a specific area. At Body Harmony, our focus is orthopedic and pelvic health, including prenatal and postpartum care. Pelvic rehabilitation covers a wide range of concerns, from chronic pelvic pain to recovery after prostate surgery.
Meet our team
Dr. Nazneen Vasi, DPT, holds a post-professional doctorate and a post-professional MHS in neurology. She has been practicing since 2006, with particular expertise in pudendal neuralgia and prenatal and postpartum care. She also serves as a lab assistant for Herman & Wallace, an organization that trains clinicians in pelvic health.
Dr. Roseanne Cruz Schoen, DPT, PRPC, LLCC, earned her DPT in 2003 and is a Certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC). She is also certified in lymphedema care (LLCC), which allows her to treat swelling throughout the body, including the pelvic region. This is especially helpful for patients recovering from cancer treatment.
Tithi Shah, PT, RYT-200, specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation and pelvic floor health. She holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology and kinesiology and has completed pelvic rehabilitation coursework through Herman & Wallace. She is also a registered yoga teacher, which informs how she incorporates mindful movement into treatment.
Dr. Jessica Ho, DPT, received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Mercy University in 2026. She completed a 12-week mentorship in pelvic health rehabilitation with Dr. Vasi and Dr. Schoen, along with a 12-week oncology rehabilitation rotation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She has also trained in visceral manipulation through the Barral Institute.
