October is Physical Therapy Month

Every October, we celebrate Physical Therapy Month. So this week we will highlight areas of physical therapy and how we can help you meet your healthcare goals. First, let’s start with what we treat.

What do PT’s treat?

Physical therapists can treat the entire body. We are trained in everything from the inner ear (balance, vertigo concerns) or jaw (TMD) all the way down to the toes (sprain, fracture, mal-alignment). We don’t just treat muscle and joints, but we also treat internal organs (the viscera), mobilizing and improving organ function like the intestines or pelvic organs. We pretty much have seen and can treat it all.

When To Go To PT?

The quick answer is anytime. Physical therapy is here for you as:

  • Prehab
    • Exercises and stretches that help before a surgery
  • Rehabilitation
  • Prevention
  • Telehealth
    • Physical therapy brought to you from the convenience of home

How Are We Different?

At Body Harmony Physical Therapy, we primarily use manual therapy techniques to reduce symptoms and restore function. Our treatments improve muscle strength and flexibility, increase range of motion and improve blood circulation. Our therapists also have pelvic health specialties which is a key core muscle group and used in almost every single movement. At Body Harmony Physical Therapy we are committed to ensuring the core muscles are engaged and work appropriately within the muscle group. We spend one hour with patients in private treatment rooms which ensures a lot of time is spent with our patients. Our therapists collectively have over 20 years of experience.
